A List of Stuff You Need In Order To Survive Outdoors

For individuals who find it a hobby to go out camping, hiking, or trekking in far away and isolated places where the traditional conveniences of living aren’t present, it is always a necessity to bring with them some survival gear. So the only question left for us to answer is what should be inside your survival kit.

1 – Knife

Going to camping without a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear with you is simply dumb. You should understand that a knife isn’t just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. The foremost reason why you shouldn’t be going out there without it is because it does things that no other outdoor survival gear can. This includes cutting rope, opening cans, building a shelter, preparing food, and cutting cloth and bandages.

2 – Cordage

Rope is undoubtedly an essential part of any DIY survival gear. The fact is it almost is impossible to survive out there in a remote place or in the wild if you don’t have a rope with you or if you don’t know how to make one. The rope plays a very important role in a survival situation as it is used for so many different purposes, including that of building emergency shelters, fixing things, lashing poles, making animal traps, fishing, climbing, and making splints for injuries.

3 – Water Bottle

Quite frankly, this one does not really need some explanation. If you don’t know it yet, a human being is capable of surviving for days even without food, provided he has access to drinking water. With this in mind, it is therefore imperative that you always bring with you some kind of container that can be used for storing water. You need to understand that not all water you get access to outdoors is clean.

4 – Signaling Device

When you’re camping and you suddenly found yourself in a survival situation, one of the first things you need to be focusing on is establishing contact with people. Bear in mind that if you let several days slip away without making the effort to make contact, your chances of being rescued will substantially decrease. So as to be sure you have some aid in terms of establishing contact when you’re in a survival situation, always bring with you a signaling equipment. There are so many things you can bring with you like a whistle, flashlight, or any other thing that can produce light or sound of some kind. Any signaling equipment must be considered as an essential tactical survival gear that you can’t afford to forget bringing.

The fact is there still are so many things you should be bringing with you if you go out camping or hiking and we leave the responsibility of learning the rest to you.
